Ben,

Saw your photos and it brought back some memories. I went to the World Championship in Colorado Springs because (A) I was a bike racing nut, and (B) my mom lives there, which meant I had free meals and lodging. Was able to take a lot of great close-up photos of famous riders (even Eddy Merckx was there) because my mom pulled some strings and got me an event staff I.D.

My mom was also the official host(ess) of the Czechoslovakian national team, and I tagged along with them to the team time trials. Have some good photos of the team's Montagner time trial bikes (with ribbed tubing and sloping top tubes), also action shots of the event, and group shots of the team with their gold medals (and my mom standing in the middle). If you want, I can get reprints and mail them to you.

While sitting on the plane waiting to fly back east, I saw Guiseppe Saronni and (my hero) Sean Kelly boarding my plane, so I was able to get Sean Kelly to autograph a souvenir water bottle and to chat with him for a moment. It was a great trip.

Good luck on your frame restoration. Hope it turns out well (and if you ever decide to sell it, let me know).
