Please don't add any cable guides or braze-ons, you'll ultimately regret changing the frame. Waterford does specialize in restoring their old frames and has all of the correct decals. You can get better results from some other folks on the list, but you'll probably pay more. Shop around call Bayliss, Bell, CyclArt, and the other good folks. Also find yourself a nice handlebar mounted cage -- they're a real treat.

\u20ac The cap on the seat says shows a crack in the brazing. (See close-up photo) Is it dangerous to ride it this way? Would this "defect" fall under the "Schwinn free frame repair warrantee?" (I think I know the answer but why not ask anyway?)

I suspect that the warranty is gone with the wind. I'm not sure I'd hand over my frame to the new folks. If they recognise the warranty at all, I'm sure they'd fork over a nice new [p]acific frame in exchange for our damaged goods. Such a deal!!

These frames are true 'Americana' which will someday be highly valued part of our cycling history.
