I just got off the phone with a guy from Salt Lake City, UT who sniped that Columbine from me about 3 weeks ago on ebay. We had a wonderful chat about bicycles--he owns a couple of Ron Stout bikes, a local SLC builder. During the conversation, he mentioned that he has a 1983 Klein touring bike with Campagnolo Record triple setup, but he didn't have a clue to value. It has a black stem, black rings and some other black parts as well. I didn't include touring bikes in my Used Bike Buyers Guide for the most part, so I know I missed whether that model in 1983 would have had Boron stiffeners. It retailed for over $3500 so I suspect it must have had something that made it worth that much. Would anyone else know?
