Subject: [CR]Lacing 24s to 36s!?

Hey folks,

Here is a new one for me and maybe old hat for the wheel-builders in the crowd. I have been corresponding with a guy in the UK - I have bought a couple of things from him - and we have maintained contact. He has half-heartedly been trying to sell me (emphasis on trying) a couple of CX18 sprint rims - 24 hole. I have 36 hole Campy NR hubs laced to Weinmann concaves at present and will likely replace these with something new (and 36h) but 'tasteful' this winter!!

He said that he has laced 24s to 36s - with great success on a number of occasions (and has built wheels in all manner of standard configurations). He has never had any problems. He skips every third hole in the hub. Has anyone else seen this done? Just curious!
