I have some questions regarding Super Champion Gentleman rims.
1: year of manufacture?
2: reliability/durability record?
3: they seem a lot like a set of Wolber dark anodized GTX rims I have (except for finish): both have single eyelets, extrusion looks the same, width, height seem identical). Did Wolber buy super Champion? Any info on the GTX's?
4: The rims have little mileage, are straight and true, built into very stout wheels, or so it seems, but are dirty and have discolored. I polished them up a bit with Simichrome, there seem to be little black pits in the aluminum. Is this an issue with durability, or simply aesthetic imperfection?
These are going to be for a rider, not a show bike, so that 's why I am
concerned with some of the issues.
