I've seen 'em broken, even my 120 lb wife broke one, but I've had one (a Selle Italia Turbo SL) on my #1 road bike since about '90. Most of the miles and all of the racing I did on it was when I weighed under 190 lb. Now that I'm over 220 I mostly ride vintage bikes, the touring bike or the tandem, but the road bike still gets some miles. I never shied away from riding it on gravel roads, Forest Service roads etc either - not that it got lots of those kinda miles.

Maybe I should think about replacing the saddle before it fatigues. Anyone wanna buy a "thoroughly tested" Turbo SL? Oops, firm price required; um, how about I'll trade it for most any NOS Idéale, Brooks or the like. ;^)
