well ... ain't far off. why would we let truth get in the way of a good yarn? .... perchance a chuckle ??

True detail - Mitsubishi launched the "Shogun" 4wd in Australia as the "Pajero" and had the good humor to keep the name even when many of the spanish speaking community pointed out to them that they named their new car the Mitsubishi Wanker. To this day Mitsubishi execs are adament that their name Pajero adds to the image in that their vehicle is synonymous with pulling power.

but back to cycling names and brands ......

Interestingly nobody who has been a shop rat or bike name goon has yet to mention that classic marque Fagor ....{maybe Trek should market a Finocchioto to give the Italians a chuckle?}.

To this day i am ashamed at not having the chance to straddle a Calzone - definately one Marque i keep looking for decals of in Pizza parlors. Idle minds could have a field day with Wilier and Lupo. What about Mondia?

Could a DeRosa perhaps mean not a virgin?

If i were crossing the border from Mexico to the US i wouldn't exactly make claims about carrying any Gianni MOTTA in the trunk.

The US brands are a field day if one really tries :-

Trying to figure out if there is a possibility to "Bay-Less" or "Weigle" out of full price for "Sachs". Most tell me not a "Chance" nor a "Silk Hope" unless i aim to "Phil Brown". Some suggest i am better to settle for a "Mooney" from "Davidson" but the thought of viewing a minor's "Behringer" doesn't exactly grab me by the "Tsanakias". I can hear some of you "Tesch"ing and thinking i am some "Morroni" but where you imagine frames i imagine "Pierce Arrow" with my "Peter Johnson" into "Moulton" "Cuevas". I guess "Della Santa" claus didn't bring wither a mere "Nobilette" nor even "Confente" so my house is not filled with good "Merz" and i humbly eat "Kellog"s with "Strawberry"s whilst "Wastyns" words. and Who put the "POP" in "Brennan"? Here endeth the "Litton" ....

{hey, i refrained from the obvious mentioning of "Dick Power"}
