The Mafac Racer brake pad holder has a post that is held by a hole in the brake bolt. Surrounding the head of the bolt is a thick aluminum washer that is sandwiched between the post and the brake arm. I used a round file the same diameter as the post to file a little channel in the thick washer for the post to nestle in. It seemed to make for more solid braking since the post was supported by a rounded channel rather than a couple of single contact points. Additionally, by filing the channel at a slight angle, I was able to adjust the toe-in without having to bend the brake arms.
