Information on 6 day bike racing is actually all over the place. Check out this website for current and recent past 6 day racing. http://www.uiv.dk. Also check out http://www.kingstonclassiccycle.com Owner Jeff Grome is the keeper of the 6 day flame. 6 day racing actually started in New York City at Madison Square Garden around 1895. In those days the riders actually rode the entire 6 days and nights. Now days they race about 5-6 hours a night and run a variety of races for points within the race, but the overall winner is still the team with the most laps. If two or more teams finish with an equal number of laps then the winner is the team with the most points. Team races of one to two hours in duration are still called Madisions to this day, even in Europe. Back in the early days of 6 day racing there were probably 10 or so each year throughout the US. Today they are all in Europe and run during the winter months. Try to find the book called Six Days of Madness by Ted Harper. Jeff Grome may know where to get one.
