Subject: [CR]MASI FACTORY RIDE PROPOSAL FOR FEB. 2

It sounds like this conference in San Diego lasts through Sunday the 1st?

If so, maybe this would be a great time for a ride I've wanted to do for awhile. Jim Cunningham and I did a little different version of it awhile ago.

We'd all meet Sunday morning at 9 or 10am (depending on when people had to be on airplanes) at Balboa Park, and ride from there to Carlsbad to see the old Masi factory. Then return. The ride would be about 45 miles round-trip, and would include the Torrey Pines hill (a good workout). There is bikepath for much of the way, as I recall, but I'd need to talk to denizens of SD to confirm. If Sterling came, or Brian Baylis, I believe they know the bike-path route.

Maybe different schedules preclude such a ride for now. If so, I'll plan on it for later, but it'd be nice to include everyone coming from out of town.

I realize this is last-minute, but if enough people had an interest, I'd certainly do it.

Please e-mail me privately if you'd like to do such a ride on Sunday February 2. We could also discuss it at the dinner on Jan. 28.

Figure a start time of 10am sharp from Balboa Park, near down-town San Diego.

Sterling, Brian, Jim, you guys interested? I'll make a formal announcement to the list that the ride is on, or off, no later than Thursday January 29th.
