Now , about the levers :

I have the "C Record" levers , with the pattern of diagonal stripes on the levers themselves , and the white hoods . These are the ones which can easily be used either with Aero cable routing , or non-Aero cable routing .

They've been on the Ron Cooper for ages and ages , with a set of Super Record brakes which were slightly older than those Aero / non-Aero levers .

Parts needed ?

The factory indicated where the slots needed to be made in the lever bodies . They clearly made thin places to indicate where to open up the slots . It took me about 5 minutes with a fine , round , file . It only took that long because I was talking while I filed .

There are two little white caps that go into the tops of the white hoods . They now cost about as much as the hoods . They look like they could be reproduced for about 500 to the dollar , once you paid for the mold to make them . They are only there for looks anyway .

If I remember correctly , there are no parts needed !

How wrong am I ?

Hi! I'm new here. My name is Mark Horinek, and I live in the flatlands of rural southwest Kansas. My two "classic" bikes are a circa 1981 Falcon equipped with Campagnolo Victory (which is now actually a mixture of groupos since I've added things here and there); and a circa 1983-84 Guerciotti, which has Campy Nuovo Record components. I've ridden since 1980, taking a year or two off in there somewhere. I did my first Century in 2001 and a second in Sept. 2002, both on the Falcon.

I'm looking for some technical advice and hope someone can help.

I have a pair of mid-1980s Campy Aero/non-aero brake levers. I am currently using the "out-the-top" cable routing, but would like to convert to aero routing. I think that I am missing some pieces in the levers that would allow me to do this. There are some rectangular holes machined into the levers.

Would anyone know where I might obtain parts that would allow me to convert my cables to aero-routing? Additionally, if there are pieces available, are all pieces interchangeable between groupos?

Thanks for any advice you can give!

Mark H.
