Mike,

I believe "Bi-laminate" frame construction refers to the practice of using a sleeve over the tubes that look like a lug exceptwhere it meets the other tube where they are joined by fillet brazing. This method has been in use for a long time. As the Butler catalogue states, you get the freedom of tube diameters and joint angles while adding some strength to the fillet brazed junction. Snazzy and strong, how can you go wrong?!

I have a few bi-laminate type projects comming up in my future plans for a racing trike and possibly some other fun perversions of the bicycle frame.
