Thanks for your responses. Jim asked for more details & some folks commented on varnishes.

This is for my Moulton Speedsix & I'm repainting it a yellow close to it's original color. It will be a bike to ride & enjoy. It will look much like the original (color, most parts), but I'm not trying to put it back to original.

The transfers are Lloyd's waterslide transfers which he says to varnish over to protect. I want to clearcoat the transfers when I clearcoat the frame. I don't want to use any varnish - just apply the decal, let it dry & then clearcoat the entire frame.

Another option could be to make vinyl sticker decal & clearcoat over them - again the bike will not be restored to original, but I think it will have the spirit of the original bike.

I'll probably bring this Moulton to the Cirque along with my 2 Bates (1 built up from the frameset I had at last years Cirque & the restored '41 I purchased from Martin). Hummmm....maybe I will only bring 2 of the bikes - we'll see.

Any comments are appreciated.

Thanks,
