yeah, the mike barry article was a gem - great guy, and its always kinda fun to see someone poke gaping holes in grants line of reasoning, and sometimes deliberate preferences toward retro-for-retros sake and jury-rigging things that can be done properly (even to the point of engineering jury-rigs into his products at times!)

a few years back, at the last running of the human powered rollercoaster (a figure 8, over/under wooden veldrome that some people involved with the toronto messenger community built), mike had part of his bike collection hanging from the ceiling of the big warehouse the track was set up in, and we had a little book made up with info about all the bikes, and announced bits about each during breaks in the action... some great stuff from high wheelers up through the present day. i helped take down the bikes after the event, and there was much to be drooled over, thats for sure...

if youre ever in toronto and have a chance to drop by bicycle specialties, DO. its a great shop, with lots of cool list-relevant stuff hanging around.
