I have a Falcon frame of the same vintage with a SN of 23497. So much for the date reference in the number. Perhaps the 234 tells something about the run, with the last two digits being the actual number. This frame also carried a heavy manilla tag that was tied onto the rear brake bridge with a piece of hemp twine. Both appear to be the same "vintage" as the frame. The number on the tag matches the BB number but has the letter "J" as a prefix in a different type as if they were all "J's" and the number was stamped in later with one of those supermarket-type mechanical stampers. (The numbers are not all in-line like a auto odometer that's been messed with.) Also indicated is the frame size of 25" and the number 176 to the left of that. All thi of course may have nothing to do with Falcon and may just be the importer's label. Dan, "I'm not a Falcon-ophile but I can't pass up a NOS frame in my size"
