At the time, we luv'd it. I had bikes with C-Record (Corsa Record) and Croce; never used the indexing myself. And the pros were racing and winning on the stuff too. Engineering disaster? We didn't notice, but then again, what did we know.

I always loved the way a Croce rear derailleur shifted with the stainless rod pushing the derailleur inward as the cable pulled the derailleur backward.
