I believe all Harry Havnoonian road frames are designed with the rear caliper mounted forward of the brake bridge. My recollection is that it had something to do with braking forces, which Louis also alluded to in his response.

That would have some effect if the sidewalls of the rims were not parallel. So if you're using Fiammi Ergal rims you might notice some difference in braking, but otherwise there is no effect. Harry's idea is that as the brake flexes forward, the pads move up towards the wider part of the rim, increasing the braking force. But that's a rather bad idea for a rear brake. ;-)

And of course with any current production rim, it's moot.
