Hi Guys,

Had had my fingers over the keys to reply to a few of these posts, but I really did not have any definitive answers, so the fingers came to a rest on the wristpad. But your constant badgering :-) has persuaded me to contribute.

When it comes to seatstay caps on a Colnago Pista frame, I really don't have much experience with them. I only have 2 Colnago Pistas. One from '79-'81 the other is a very late model......'95. Unfortunately, Colnago catalogs (of the 7 I own) don't show Pista frames, very strange. So I can't even look to those as a resource.

My '79-'81 looks identical to Hilary's. But then again, Hilary's pictures aren't very clear. No offense Hilary. Notice that the Pista frame did not get the same lugs as the road frame. I think it might be possible that some Colnago Pista frames didn't get panto'd caps, even when the Colnago road frames were getting them. I just don't have enough examples of Colnago Pista frames to come to a conclusion.

Also, it was hard for me to respond to Hilary's post about the age of his Pista frame because it forced me to go into my photo album to compare it to my Colnagos. Unfortunately, I am still seething about the large theft I had in which the '79-'81 Pista frameset, and a Colnago Mexico from the same year, were part of that theft. Sorry for venting.

Hey! It's the only time we can get Marc to come out of the lurking mode. Besides, maybe somebody will turn up new 'nago info (doncha just hate it when guys call them 'nagos instead of Colnagos).
