I have a Peugeot PX-10 with Mafac Racer brakes that has gold anodized and drilled levers. I have no real idea of the model year because I bought the bike used and the seller had gotten it as an abandoned wreck. It does have Simplex SLJ 5500 derailleurs. The levers say MAFAC and the word in underlined and beneath the line it says FRANCE. I would say the shape of the levers is the same as #3 below. The brakes themselves are identical to the MAFAC "RACER"s on my 74 PX-10. Daniel S. Eric,

I have just received much of a 1970-1 PX10E which has levers like the ones you describe for your 1968-9 PX10E. Now here's a question to add to the discussion, are there also differences in the calipers through time?
