E-Richie, and list

I can see a couple of reasons to buy a reproduction, (this applies to anything: bicycles included)

1) You can't find an original 2) You can't afford an original 3) You want to improve on the original

All this has been gone over on this list many times before.

Personally, I think it comes out of frustration for trying to find something you once wanted, but can't find today.

I'd give anything for a 70's ugo blue de rosa in a 52cm, anyone got one?

I bought my '89 De Rosa basically to "reproduce" what I can't find.

Richard M Sachs asked:

why do people want (CR type) bicycles that are made under license, that are reissues and/or reproductions of originals? in many cases the newer versions are made better. but they're not originals. am i wrong to equate this with fake rolexs or louis vuiton handbags? this hetchins and masi stuff is at the core of my query.
talk to me.
