Subject: [CR]Hubgears and Hetchins

Greetings,

I have a Hetchins with a Sturmey-Archer FC. This is actually a four speed hubgear. The interesting thing about this bike is that a braze-on to attach the wire guide pulley is fitted just under the seat cluster. You can see this bike on my website. http://old_school_cycles.tripod.com/ I assume there were a number of Hetchins designed to take hubgears. This was called a path style of bike and was very popular in Britain until derailleurs took over in the popularity contest. I really enjoy this bike as it is simple, quiet, and has quite a nice set of gear ratios.

Best wishes,
