Subject: [CR]Reproductions?

What are reproductions, anyhow?

For example, Singer doesn't sell reproductions - they sell bikes with a vast choice of components. Many of these components are no longer made, but very appropriate for the application.

On the other hand, many people lust for a "vintage" bike with all modern components and maybe also an "all-modern" ride. So why not get an anniversary De Rosa, Pegoretti et al. with Ergo? Or if they prefer the vintage ride, get a Bates...

Finally, aren't all lugged steel bikes, including Richard Sachs', outdated, antiques? State of the art appears to be TIG or carbon... (tongue in cheek here).
