Just to point out one proverbial exception to the rule...Dede Demet-Barry and her wonderful comeback performance in the Montreal World Cup last year.

It is interesting to wonder whether a pro rider would ever end up on a steel lugged frame if her/his father-in-law wasn't a "keeper of the flame". Just Dede's good fortune to end up with a Mariposa race bike.

Maybe "light ain't always right". Or Dede had a superlative day after a year and a half layoff. Cinderella story indeed.
