I have dies a lot of Brooks Pro saddles. Works well unless the saddle has been oiled. There are some instructions at on breaking in leather saddles that includes refinishing them. You probably have some time on your hands until the snow is gone.

Subject: [CR]Dyeing a Brooks saddle & B5N question

Probably a sacrilegious question - but here goes: Has anyone tried to dye a Brooks saddle? I have picked up a Brooks B5N (really cheaply) which is a muddy sort of brown as if someone may have tried to make it black in the past. I would like to have this as a black saddle. Any suggestions on dyeing methods?

Also can anyone give me a date for a B5N?
