I bought my Merak from De Rosa personally and there was absolutely no comment whatsoever about any weight limits. One look at me will tell you that there is no way that I fit in under the weight limit given on the site listed above. I therefore can only say that it must be related to some lawyer-induced possible liability issue, otherwise they would have tried to put me on another bike.
