I don't know when they dropped it, but I hope they didn't drop it on their foot! <rim shot> Maybe Larry Black will tell us again about when he learned how to balance the spring tension between upper and lower springs at Schwinn school. I hear with careful tuning you could get them to shift every bit as well as a Cambio Corsa.

I can confirm Mark Perkins's statement that the '73 catalog clearly shows GTs on the Paramount tandems, P15-9 touring single and Sports Tourer. And '74 equally clearly shows Cranes, called out as "GT 300 Le Tour" in the text. Those Cranes seem to have a Schwinn-specific blank outer parallelogram arm where the normal Crane would have the raised lettering. Did the actual ones that came through say Le Tour on them? If so then the ones in the catalog might have been pre-production prototypes, or maybe the photos were airbrushed to remove the Crane logo?
