i say it's like anything else... no matter where else it appeared beforehand, or even since, it's "Masi" style as long as it's fluted, indented, or concave, because the masi frames were the first widely known brand to exploit this detail. in my mind, there's no confusing that look with the other versions cited thusfar, irrespective of date, country of origin, or gender. however, i do not associate that style with the early colnago shapes mentioned; that is, executing this on a 12mm seat stay end is a different animal compared to the 14mm and 16mm diameter that masi, etcetera used.
