but I'm looking for older and older racing bikes for that max mojo hit. -Chuck Schmidt

Chuck,

Can I ask, what is it that you're looking for in "moldjo" (max-old-mojo)? My guess is that the qualities are:

craftsmanship design innovation pedigree function beauty style typifies it's era

I don't get why you're stuck in the past. A 2003 Nagasawa, Sachs, or a the frickin C40 for that matter, has max mojo because it is all these things, and not trying to be something else.

Why does it have to be old? Everything will be old eventually. What about all the stories of how we on the list acquire bikes from their original owner, as a mojo-enhancing self-congratution, one step closer to being there.

For me, the ultimate "period correct" collector would only be acquiring bikes as new, in the period, representing the best of the current available skills.
