well, i dont know if my memory is being faulty here, but my brain is trying to tell me that the early campy barends ive seen have all had "campagnolo" stamped across the top of the shifter body, while these have "gran sport" - of course, then i go and look at mark bulgiers pics site, and hes got a pic of a set with "deragl centrale" stamped on them! argh!

of course, now i cant find a picture of a barend shifter with "campagnolo" stampng, though i couldve sworn i had one somewhere...

maybe the different stamping means something as far as value...

later versions, which turn up quite regularly, have no stamping at all.

as for why theyre going for so much, im at a loss, other than knowing that when the japanese ebay regulars decide they want something, they mean no matter the cost... maybe theyre the only shifters thatll work with that $3000 crankset that jan sold a little while back :)
