Subject: [CR]Sorry, have to quit

Hi Dale, hi group, I am sorry to say that I will quit the group as per today.

I hasten to add that I have not been slighted by anyone, neither has the list lost factual fascination for me. In fact, I admire the great majority´s discipline on-list, and their knowledge and dedication. I feel rather honoured to have been treated as their equal by members who are actually far more knowledgeable and dedicated than I am myself. The problem is that I just cannot find the time to continue being a part in this exciting, ongoing experiment of writing bicycle and cycling history.

Yesterday for instance I found seven "daily" digests in my e-mail account, with close on 130 postings. Even only reading those which were most interesting, judging from the digest header, took me more time than I could afford to spend. As much as my English, too, has profited from reading and writing such a lot, my family is starting to rebell, and rightfully so.

All of you who have started off-list threads with me, please feel free to continue mailing; I would also not mind at all if you saved my e-mail address for future queries. It is just that I would like to return to a two- or three-day regime in checking my mail account. I will also make a point of checking the Archives from time to time.

Yours, Toni Theilmeier, Belm, Germany.
