The only ones worth remotely that money are the "open C" gears. The first 2 years were each a "one year only" item and are quite rare. The 3rd version was available from 1953 to about 1955. Nice ones are rare. All of these have the screw adjuster for the cable. There is one "non open C" with the adjuster that was available from 1955 to about1959 or 1960. The ones with no adjuster are the latest and seemingly most common.
