Too true, I take a leaf from the Cannondale (boo, hiss, out of period) book and strap the frame or bike to a pallet-a sheet of cardboard-inside the box, perferably a Cannondale box-they're bigger. I never have damage problems with this arraingment. Strapping the frame to a pllet keeps it away from the sides of the box. Works a treat. Oh, and use Fedex Ground.
