Subject: [CR]BSA Arrived

While away for work this week, I got a phone call from my wife that a package had arrived. It was the old BSA from Tim Gunn at The Old Bicycle Company in England. He had e-mailed me last week to say that it shipped on Friday by something he called "parcel force". The frame and parts arrived at my house on Tuesday, in perfect shape, delivered by UPS. Tim did a great job of packing, and has been very generous in this transaction and easy to communicate with. I was very nervous about dealing with someone far away, about whom I knew nothing. Thanks to Tim for a pleasant deal!

So, I will take pictures this weekend for anyone interested. The frame and components are in dire need of restoration (as expected). I'm looking for pictures that will show 2 things: paint scheme, and how the heck do these rod brakes set up? Unusual brake levers that sit at the center of the handlebars, activating either lever appears to work both front and rear brakes.

I have no wheels for this bike. I'd like to build them up with BSA hubs, fixed wheel, and wood rims. Any help in finding these items will be appreciated.

I'll be looking around locally for someone to re-chrome the individual bits and pieces. Any caveats on what to watch out for?

I'm very grateful to Dale for creating a list where helpful, trustworthy and nice people with similar interests can be found. Obviously, without the list, I wouldn't have my new toy :)
