That probably makes sense, Jan. Now the next question is, if these pedals typical fit snugly into new TA "BSC" cranks, are these cranks also in fact French threaded? Someone said that TA still make French cranks also. Maybe, in fact, all their cranks are really the same French thread, but are marked differently to match whatever the customer ordered. I guess the moral is, when dealing with new TA cranks or pedals, install pedals cautiously, making sure the pedals thread in snugly, without using excessive force on a wrench. If you can do that, the pedal/crank combo should be fine, no matter what is marked on them.

As many of us on the list are now officially "old farts" there is something comforting about the thought of a country where there are hords of old geezers out on the roads on road bikes, and where the component manufacturers actually cater to them.
