Stephan,

In 1984 many of us on the west coast were using the Suntour New Winner freewheels teamed up up with a Sedisport chain.

The HOT setup was to take a 126mm Record hub, remove the alloy spacer on the right side, walk over to the parts bin, take out two of the alloy spacers meant for the 120mm hub and place one of those on each side. This had the effect of moving the hub flanges toward a more symmetric orientation about the locknuts. That in turn resulted in less wheel dish.

Then you would use the New Winner ULTRA-6 which had six cogs in the space use by a standard 5-speed. The Sedis chain was thin and worked well on the ULTRA-6.

This rendered a six-cog, bomb-proof wheel. I'm still riding a set like this today.

But Reginas were nice too.

Happy cycling,
