Subject: [CR]TA Cranks w/Pedal Hole Cover Plate ??

I've just purchased a NOS TA 5 Pro Vis (Cyclotourist) crankset. It has the flute down the center of the arm with the black and silver decal along with the pedal hole cover with the small hole in it. I'm a big fan of Stronglight cranks but have never paid attention to/nor owned a TA crankset so this is new to me. I've been collecting parts for a French style touring bike and these seem most appropriate. So, three questions:

1. Are the sets with the pedal dust covers unusual and what year(s) was my version (decal and pedal covers) made? 2. Are there different versions of appropriate rings based on year? I realize there are different rings and adapters, I'm interested in knowing if markings, stampings, etc. were different for different years; if so, what would be appropriate for mine? 3. I paid $130 for the crankarms and complete BB but no rings - good, fair or high?

Thanks in advance to all who reply,

Eric Elman Somers, CT where we currently have about 1/4" coating of ice/freezing rain on everything - looks pretty but is terribly frustrating after such a long and hard winter. Will it ever end?
