David, I don't know about others but I'd like to see pictures of this Zunow.

Subject: [CR]Zunow Frames

I just acquired something a bit unusual, a Zunow road frame. While the little I have been able to glean from the "Japan" section of the CR site, some careful use of some search engines, and the very kind help of Andy Muzi of Yellow Jersey in Madison Wisconsin has provided me with a bit of information, I am trying to flesh out what "is out there" regarding this, well the only way to describe him would be, unusual framebuilder.

The photo at the CR site says "early 80s." The catalog scans at Mark's site is undated. Andy, who has been a great source of info on Japanese frames for me in the past (not many shops still have new 3Rensho frames or sell Nagasawa) provided some information, placing Zunow road frames as built from about 1980 to 1990.

Andy also said what another afficiando of Japanese framebuilders said when he saw my frame, "Never saw two exactly alike." (Mine is fairly conservative as Zunow goes, a single color -- red-- without the multiple colrs, pastels or fades or wild designs in the paint you see on others. Hummingbirds carved into the fork crown, of course as it IS a Zunow!)

Was there a 'standard' Zunow frame? Are there many still around? Any additional sources of information, any bits of information on these frames or their builder would be appreciated.
