From: "goodrichbikes" <goodrichbikes@netzero.net> "We built a total of 750 Paramounts at match. These Paramounts were = doomed from the beginning of the project. The geometry was not terribly = desirable (not enough BB drop) and the straight bladed fork was a = foolish mistake by a MTB driven marketing department. Despite all of = that, I think these Paramounts were as well made as any of the best = Paramounts from the past."

A quick question: why were straight bladed forks a mistake? Functionally, or aesthetically?

FWIW, when I saw a couple of these frames, I was impressed, as well as encouraged that a high-end lugged frame was being marketed again by a large manufacturer. oh well... ..but not all is lost. A buddy recently took posession of a nice, new lugged Merckx. Lots of chrome too!! Very sweet!
