Okay, before you get all excited, this bike is not NOS from the 60's, does not sport Bivalents and was never touched by Spence Wolf! It is on-topic in spirit only. This particular frame probably post dates our mid-80's cut-off, but the model was available within the topic period. I don't know the actual model name, but it is that relatively common 80's Cinelli with the chromed fastback stays, and an internal sloping crown (but not the classic hard-edged Cinelli fully sloping). The story is that I was checking this bike out at T-town last weekend, and while I chose to pass on the bike, it seemed like something a listmember might appreciate. The seller works for the velodrome and he's trying to sell the bike for his brother. It is a complete bike, apparently in very good shape, and he's asking $650. Here are the details, as I recall:Frame: late 80's or early 90's Cinelli 60 cm TO TOP. Top tube is 57.5 cm. The paint is very late-80's, yellow and grey in a sort of triangular pattern (like some Giordanas). The bike is complete (may lack pedals?and is mostly first generation Chorus. It has friction downtubers, and an 8-speed screw-on freewheel (not index, not casette, 130mm O.L.D.). The only obvious non-Chorus part is the Victory crank. (IMHO, it would look nice with late SR or very early C and I was very tempted to take on the project.) Here's my C.Y.A.: I can't make any representations about the reliablity of the bike, or the seller. My description is just what I recall. Basically, it looked like a nice bike to me and it seemed like a potential good deal on a bike that while slightly off-topic, is on-topic "in spirit." The seller seems to simply want to move a now-obsolete racing bike, so I told him I'd put out the word to a good target audience.
