Subject: [CR]Larz Anderson National Bike Show

Larz Anderson is shaping up to be a great event this year, with what should be a very interesting group of cycles on the Concour. I'll be updating the show bike list later tonight, but there promises to be a full array, from a few wooden Ordinaries, a number of Highwheelers, a number of Balloon tyre bikes from the 40s -60s and a great collection of lightweights from all eras.

As announced earlier, the show will be under tents this year and for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately quite a few members of the CR will not make our show this year, because of the close proximity to Cirque and short notice of our date posting. Hopefully in the future, everybody will be able to attend both shows if possible. It looks like the last Sunday in April is a permanant date for Larz, which means great early Spring weather to enjoy a fun outdoor event.

Because of the change in schedule and thing going on internally, the show is changing drastically, and for the better. We've scaled back the show this year to just include a Concourse and an early ride, with a few other booths by bike friendly organization. In future years we hope to expand the show to include major frame builders from accross the U.S. showing their work, interesting seminars, vintage rides and more. All this takes much time and planning.

The early morning ride this year, will begin at the front gate of the Museum of Transportation and follow much of Boston's Emerald Necklace. It will be an informal ride of about 10 miles. Next year we will be organizing a longer series of rides headed by local clubs.
