Dale,

Here's a few co-incidences. The S-22 decal set you dislike so much was designed by a friend of mine. He did exactly as Dave told him to do in the design, and Dave had a concept that I can appreciate. Interestingly, I am finishing a frame for this friend of mine who designed the Tesch decals TODAY! He still rides the Tesch 101 he got from Dave for the decal work; now it can be reapinted because he has a new bike to ride while his Tesch is in the shop. He uses it for daily transportation. I have heard many who don't like the S-22 decal style; I personally think it fit the OS tubes and fillet or tiged joints nicely stylewise. The decals don't work too well on a fade like the bike on ebay; they look best on solid colors like one might find on 50's household kitchenware. Light aqua blue is ideal.

The concept for the S-22 decal set I believe sprung from the love of his 1962 Mercury Comet S-22! Dave will not go along with this, claiming it was named for state route S-22, a steep winding decent (or climb) that goes through Julian, CA. But I know Dave, he was and still is into those cars. Regardless, Dave knew what he wanted his stuff to look like and what impression he wanted to make. I'm sort of indiffenent towards the S-22 graphics, but as you say, the 101 decals are true classics. The custom tandem decals I have are the Model 100 and 101 style.

Brian Baylis La Mesa, CA Can anyone top a Tesch male/female Model 100 tandem in bright red?
