Seeing this SuperCourse sure brought back some memories. But seeing the rim decal made me once again wonder about Evian, and their role with British cycles. The 3TTT stem that came on my Raleigh track bike in '73 had Evian unsightly stamped into the front. I was told that Evian was an importer that supplied European components to Raleigh. I thought it pretty rude for them to stamp their name into a high-end component. Anyone have any more details on Evian, and how they got Nisi to add their name to that rim decal?

\r?\n> here's a perfect example of a Raleigh/Carlton production bike where

\r?\n> the hand of the Euro 'masters' (or maybe 'apprentices') was unsteady ...

\r?\n>

\r?\n> http://ebay.com/<blah>

\r?\n>

\r?\n> even though its near the bottom of the line, and the paint job is

\r?\n> poor, they had great lugs, unique paint color, elaborate badging,

\r?\n> custom parts to distinguish the brand (carlton hoods, special green

\r?\n> tape). they were tried and succeeded in achieving a classy result.

\r?\n>

\r?\n> The same thing goes for the early 1980's peugot's with the satin

\r?\n> finishes and checkered flag fades along the top tube. sexy.
