I just acquired a 1959 Hobbs of Barbican. It came with two sets of wheels. The original wheels are older than the bike and have Campy three piece hubs. They are badly corroded and I want to clean them up. Anyone have experience taking the shells apart to rechrome the centers? Or know how they are joined?

------------ About 20 yr ago, I did the same thing with a Paramount hub, and suspect the construction is the same. On the rear hub, the FW (right side) flange is threaded on, continuing the 1.37*24 thread of the freewheel. The left is pressed on, so you can get the holes exactly between the holes on the right side. A corollary is that the right side spokes are the only ones doing real torque work -- no wonder some folks run left radials!
