I don't think that the red "Russian" Masi is a true replica of any actual team bike. As I recall, the old Torelli wholesale catalogs (which my LBS in South Carolina would let me peruse to my heart's content) said it was a commemorative model. It was a stock 3V with special paint, decals, and a limited edition serial number, much the same as the Barcelona and Diamond Jubilee models. All three were sold as framesets only. Of course, I defer to those who are more knowledgeable than I.
