A good friend of mine has a Lotus E'clare (sp?), which I believe is a mid-level bike for the line, of maybe early 80's vintage. Nice lugged steel, not ornate, but appears very well made. She has been riding it since new, and refuses to consider another bike. Her husband recently had the thing painted for her, and the local builder gave it a clean bill of health. It is equipped with early Shimano, with half-step+granny gearing; this is a great looking crank. That's the only one I have any direct knowledge of.The following is not related to the Lotus question, but a commentary I want to share:My friend is a very interesting person, very basic in her life approach. She is not 'ate-up' with bikes and the CR side of things (nor the modern), and doesn't even think of her bike as 'classic'. She just loves to ride and could not care less about the tech side or the 'style', new or old, of bikes, clothes, gear, etc. This may make her the most CR kind of person I know, and it is refreshing to see and be reminded of the purity of the reason we ride.
