Don has a good point about the PX-10 and I would add Gitane's Tour de France to this short list. If you wanted to try racing but couldn't justify the extra money for Campy components these two bikes presented good options. While I never considered myself a serious threat to the "big boys", I often placed in the top ten way back then. Both of my Tour de FRance bikes left my custody with Phil Wood hubs and Sun Tour derailleurs. The "motor" counts for more than the components sometimes and I often left those Campy bikes behind on my Tour de France.
