Subject: [CR]Campagnolo Corsa project bike for sale

I have an Italian Campagnolo Corsa drop-out project bike that I realize I will not get around to building up any time soon. I would therefore like to offer it for sale to the CR list members. The frame is a 56 cm c/c (hence very big by Italian standards of the period) with mudguard braze-ons. I am not sure of the maker, but I was told by one knowledgeable friend in Italy that it might be an Arbos (they sponsored one of the stronger pro Italian teams in the late 40's). If not an Arbos, it was likely built by one of the many small frame shops that popped up after WWII. There is a rather sad story behind the bike, as I purchased it from a fellow with terminal cancer. Before his illness, he started the restoration of the bike, but couldn't go any further. The bike has been repainted and rechromed, as have been the accompanying mudguards. While not a perfect paint job, it does however reflect the type of paint job that one may have received on a new bike of the period. Unfortunately, the previous owner couldn't find any Arbos decals, so he put on some Legnano decals. The Legnano decals are unsightly on this bike, but can readily be removed as they are not clearcoated. I also have the majority of the other bits that the fellow collected that would be needed to build up the bike, including: Campagnolo 3-piece hubs with serrated rear hub axle, Campagnolo Corsa levers, Universal mod.51 brakes, Sheffield-type pedals, most headset bits and BB bits.

I would like to receive $700 for the whole lot. I can send you photos, if you are interested.
