It was at the feeding frenzy at Cirque that I spotted a really nice Campy front cage and parallelogram assembly for a couple of bucks. Looked different, with an angular front, but what the heck. Having a NR assembly in nice shape that lacked just that set of components, out came the wallet and into the stash went the cage.

Much later (yesterday) this led to a profound discovery (albeit not at the level of Newton's). The cage slipped on nicely, and pointed out at the bottom. It turns out that the later front 'raillers have their pivots at a different angle from the older ones.

Maybe the funk is great enough that I should mount it and ask folks for what weird bike that design was for: would work fine with a down tube that leans to the right.
