Since I'm new to the list, I did not know the fellow.
These sort of things aren't overnight illnesses; they build over a long period of time and cause much pain. Yet from the reactions I've read thus far in e-mail, few, if none, knew of his affliction.
Instead 'crying a river' about his troubles, I think it is a credit to his character that the most important things people remember about him were his warm personality and his tireless vigilance in helping others.
I can only aspire that the day I pass on, such things can be said about me.
So the next beer is for you, C.B., keep pedaling that lugged steel rig in the sky.
