To clarify the discussion regarding the modified BB shell here's the response from the seller:

"Thanks for your enquiry Dirk.

The BB shell treatment will still accept a common bb as I have done in the past. It is not ideal though as I felt that it was unwise to tighten the cups up as much as I might have done with a common bb. Having said that it didn't come loose, but I only rode it in this state for about 40 miles. ..."
